Training Fourth Batch of Government Employees

The Capital Market Authority continued the training programme on the capital and insurance markets for the employees of the Government units during the period 7-9 October 2012 at the Platinum Hotel, Al Khuwair as part of the endeavors of CMA to disseminate saving, investment and insurance culture for all the segments of the community. 

The programme included working papers on dealings in capital markets and insurance sector explaining their role in achieving economic development in addition to the specifications of efficient markets which are able to achieve comprehensive economic development. The training included acquaintance with the structural composition of the stock markets and long and short term returns as well as unusual movement in the market and the factors impacting the market whether resulting from listed companies’ performance or economic and financial factors which affect investment decision.

The programme also included  a detailed explanation on basic and technical analysis to assess the shares and know about weaknesses and strengths of listed companies in addition to identification of the risk attached with investment in securities traded on stock markets

The programme also covered the insurance sector with regard to roles, importance and principles plus detailed explanation of insurance products available in the Omani market with focus on motor vehicle insurance which comprises the largest segment of policyholders. 

It is noteworthy the programme was organized for the fourth consecutive time and is expected to continue twice yearly to cover the largest segment of employees of Government institutions after  the success and commendation of participants.
