CMA Participates in the Meeting AMERC of IOSCO in Dubai

The Sultanate of Oman represented  by the Capital Market Authority participated in the meeting of the Africa, Middle East Regional Committee (AMERC) of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) during the period 18-19 February 2013 in the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

 

The Sultanates delegation was chaired by HE Sheikh Abdullah Salim Al Salmi, Executive President of the Capital Market Authority and the membership of Mohammed Said Al Abri, Director of the Department of Licensed Companies and Credit Rating and Sarah Salim Al Ghatamiyah from the Department of International Cooperation and Committee’s follow up.

 

The meeting aims at exchanging expertise among the member countries and to discuss the new developments in capital markets with focus on cooperation methods among regulatory authorities  as well as discussing risk based supervision and the challenges facing the risk based supervision of securities markets.

 

IOSCO comprises most of the regulatory commissions of securities markets and sets out international standards for the performance of regulatory organizations and prepares statistics, research and studies pertaining to the activities of such organizations and implementation mechanisms.
