The CMA participated in the Oman Debt Capital Market International Conference

The Gulf Bond and Sukuk Association based in Dubai had recently organized the Oman Debt Capital Market International Conference on 4 February 2016 for the 1st time in the Sultanate of Oman at the InterContinental Hotel Muscat. The organizing of this successful international event is consistent with the Capital Market Authority’s continuous strategic efforts in educating the market, creating the awareness and developing the bond and Sukuk market in Oman. Mr. Kemal Rizadi Arbi was invited to participate as a speaker at this international conference representing the Capital Market Authority. The conference was officiated by H.E. Hamood Sangour Al-Zadjali, the Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman and was overwhelmingly attended by numerous local and international delegates. The conference had discussed on areas such as the Oman/GCC regional economic outlook and what the fixed-income market has to offer to Omani companies. Mr. Kemal Rizadi Arbi had also highlighted some of the bond and Sukuk issuances in Oman, such as the 1st sovereign Sukuk issued by the Oman Ministry of Finance, and some of the CMA’s current regulatory initiatives in developing the Oman capital market including highlighting some of the new flexibilities being introduced in the proposed draft Sukuk Regulation.”
