Iranian Securities and Exchanges Commission discuss Cooperation with CMA

HE Yahya Said Al Jabri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dqum Special Economic Zone and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Capital Market Authority received Dr. Ali Saleh Abadi,  Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Securities and Exchanges Commission of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the accompanying delegation visiting the Sultanate.

 

On the other hand HE Abdullah Salim Al Salmi, Executive President of  the Capital Market Authority  held a meeting with the Iranian delegation for exchange of information and experience to activate the memorandum of understanding between CMA and the Securities and Exchanges Commission of the Islamic Republic of Iran concluded in 2009.

 

The meeting included  a presentation on the capital market and insurance sector and regulatory and supervisory legislations as well as most important developments in the sectors.

 

The meeting also discussed Islamic financing instruments and the efforts exerted for their developments and their contribution to the national economy.

 

The Iranian delegation made a presentation on the development of the Iranian capital markets, trading regulation and the regulation of Islamic financing instruments.

 

The visit was organized within the closed relationship between the two countries to boost mutual cooperation and for exchange of experience and information between the regulatory authorities.

 

The meeting was attended by Ahmed Saleh Al Marhoon, Director General of MSM, Abdullah Ahmed Al Nabhani, Director General of Muscat Clearance and Depository Company and a number of officials and experts from CMA, MSM and a representative of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
