CMA Takes Part in 38th Meeting of IOSCO in Luxembourg

The Capital Market Authority took part in the 38th meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commissions hosted by the Commission deSurveillance du Secteur Financier of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg during the period 15-19 September 2013.

The delegation of the Sultanate was chaired by HE Yahya Said Al Jabri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dqum Special Economic Zone and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Capital Market Authority and the membership of HE Abdullah Salim Al Salmi, Executive President of CMA and  a number of officials.

The meeting aims to discuss exchange of expertise between the members and the developments in the capital markets as well as mutual cooperation between the regulatory commissions in order to develop the supervisory and regulatory activities of the capital markets.

IOSCO is the standard setter for securities markets and comprises  securities commissions to work together to achieve the highest standards to maintain the efficiency and integrity of the transactions of international securities markets, exchange of information to boost local markets and to unify the endeavors to establish efficient regulation of international financial transactions, provision of mutual technical assistance  for sound markets and rigorous application of regulations to curb market manipulation.
