CMA Dispatch Finance and Accounting Students for Training Abroad

 

The Capital Market Authority in collaboration with Sultan Qaboos University represented by the college of Economics and Political Science  dispatched a number of students for practical  training at securities commissions in  Arab and Asian Countries to acquaint them with the nature of work in securities markets.

 

Abdullah Salim Al Rabiei, Director of Media and External Relations said on the notion and benefit of the training “Dispatching students for training in Arab and Asian commissions  with which CMA has memoranda of  understanding is to achieve cooperation in a number of fields including  exchange of expertise in the stock markets and providing training opportunities for national cadres  to attain skills and aptitude to qualify them for the work market.”

 

Al Rabiei added that  CMA agreed with  a number of Arab and Asian commissions to host the students of Economics and Political Science of SQU for one month of training. He said the students commenced the training this week in The Moroccan Capital Market Authority, the  Dubai Financial Services Authority, Iranian Securities and Stock Exchanges Organization and Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority.

 

Al Rabiei added that the cooperation between CMA and SQU includes CMA’s commitment to provide training opportunities for the students of the College of Economics and Political Science for one month and continues for three years. He added this year’s training focus on the students of accounting and finance.

 

The two month training commenced with orientation week at CMA to acquaint the students with the Omani capital market and its regulatory and supervisory legislations then the student will travel to the specified countries and when they return the training will continue at the CMA and SQU to prepare the  report and  presentations on  CMA and the hosting countries.
