GCC Awareness Campaign for Investor

Secretary General: We Commend the Joint GCC Campaign and Look Forward to our Markets as Investment Opportunities to Enhance the National and Regional Economies

 

Within the endeavors of the GCC capital markets regulators to increase the awareness of the GCC citizens and residents and in line with the directions of the Excellences the members of the Ministerial Committee of the Chairpersons of the regulators of the GCC capital markets, the regulators of the GCC capital markets launched a joint  awareness campaign on the basics of investment in the capital markets, avoidance of investment related risks, increasing awareness of fraudulent methods and acquainting with the laws and regulations governing  investment in the capital markets to enhance the standards of efficiency and soundness of transactions in the markets.

 

The move comes as continuation of the cooperation between the GCC states especially with regard to the aspects of economic importance as the GCC capital markets have attractive elements for national and international investments.  HE the Secretary General of the GCC Dr. Naif Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf commended the awareness campaign that comes as a product of cooperation among the GCC states. HE said that the capital markets represent a financial hub and investment opportunities that would enhance the national and regional economies and mirrors the strength of the GCC economies which reflects in a number of GCC stock markets joining the indices of emerging markets. HE emphasized the importance of the role of awareness in providing material information to investors and their contribution in making informed investment decision that enhances the existence of sound and safe markets.

 

It is noteworthy that the GCC investment awareness program is a joint awareness program between the regulators of the GCC capital markets targeting the communities “mainly investors from the general public, small investors, beginners in the markets, students, entrepreneurs in small and medium enterprises and micro enterprises.”
